Every few weeks I weed out clothes from the kids’ drawers that have gotten too small. It always makes me feel nostalgic already for that little window of time they wore those jammies or that shirt.

I give most things away, but there are some that somehow became the quintessential A. or EA clothes. Those ones I pack away, just to keep and look at later and remember.

If they’re too worn out or stained, I cut out the good pieces of the fabric and stash it away. I think I’ll make a quilt for Astrid with some of her old dresses, and there are a few special jammies of EA’s that could become part of a quilt for him later, when I’ve collected more fabric.

I almost packed these tights up in the thrift-store designated bag today, but then snatched them out and stood looking at the patterns on them for a minute before packing them carefully away in my stash.
