White birch bark is stark in the sun. Woodpiles sit very still. Mailboxes stand, contentedly expectant.
Moss, birds, tides, daffodils, butterflies, moths, ants, worms, squirrels, mice. I’m back out here among my enchanted places, my secret places, my gentle places, my dreaming places.
To live like this! Painting, drawing, writing, having grand breakfasts at a real table brought outside....

One one thousand, two one thousand...
It’s pouring, and there’s thunder and lightning. Growing is as simple as I let it be, I guess. Never felt exactly like this before. There was a big crash of thunder and the power went out just for one second. It was loud, and everything went dark. I jumped and then felt kind of shaky and foolish.

yellow-y and green-y
Yesterday I took this picture when I was sitting on the steps with Astrid who was home sick. We sat there in the sun and blew bubbles and wore sandals for the first time
this year.
She said “Wow, everything’s like, bloomin’ and the trees are all different and yellow-y and green-y.”
Today, thank you to the people working at the recycling centre, joking and laughing...
